NAVA Reports Q3 2002 Variable Annuity Data

The National Association for Variable Annuities (NAVA) announced today third quarter results for the variable annuity industry. The combined net assets of U.S. variable annuities decreased 9.0 percent to $754.4 billion at the end of the third quarter, as compared to second quarter of 2002. Net assets decreased by 7.3 percent relative to the third quarter a year ago.

The National Association for Variable Annuities (NAVA) announced today second quarter results for the variable annuity industry. The combined net assets of U.S. variable annuities decreased 7.0 percent to $829.5 billion at the end of the second quarter, as compared to the end of the first quarter of 2002. Net assets decreased by 8.9 percent relative to the second quarter a year ago.

XML-Standard for Annuity Industry Complete

The National Association for Variable Annuities (NAVA), the leading trade association for the variable annuity industry, announced today that the Product Profile for Annuities (PPfA) is now complete and will be forwarded to ACORD for inclusion in the ACORD XMLife Standard. An update of the XML standard and the NAVA Implementation Guide for the PPfA will be on the NAVA (www.navanet.org) and ACORD (www.acord.org) websites May 1.

NAVA Reports Q4 2001 Variable Annuity Data

The National Association for Variable Annuities (NAVA) announced today that the combined net assets of U.S. variable annuities increased 8.5 percent to $883 billion at the end of the fourth quarter relative to the end of the third quarter of 2001. Net assets decreased by 7.7 percent as compared to the end of 2000.
